Dacia get their own base and stadium!
In September 2010, the mayor's office of the Speia commune auctioned off a 6,8 hectare local sports complex to FC Dacia. The sports complex features a stadium with a 10,000-person capacity and other training facilities
A new modern football base with residential buildings as well as training infrastructure will be built there soon in addition to the reconstruction of the stadium. Two training fields will be built in addition to the main arena.
As you probably know, the Moldova stadium in Speia was previously used to host UEFA matches. Zimbru held three Champions League matches against Tirana, Maribor ND Sparta there ten years ago. The U-21 national team also played numerous matches there.
Rustam Polonkoev, FC Dacia president:
- When I became FC Dacia's president, I felt the need for a stadium where the team would be able to train and host football matches. We had a few options and many offers, but chose Speia. We won the auction and will start developing a reconstruction plan starting from tomorrow. Our goal is to turn an abandoned sports complex into a modern base. Now we can move forward with confidence because we have got a home!
