Youth team: second straight loss

August, 29 2011

Dacia-2-Buiucani's young footballers did not manage to repeat the achievement of the first team that beat Iskra-Stal 4-1 in an away game.

Igor Negrescu's men had a difficult match in the northern capital where Olimpia had not conceded any goal or lost any game until the 3rd round. But Pavel Secrier made Leonid Groza  surrender a goal in the 5th minute - 0-1.

The Chişinău side could have scored another goal before half-time but conceded a goal instead. Ion Lacusta equalized after using his one-on-one chance - 1-1.

The second half was close. Both Olimpians and Dacia-2-Buiucani players could have netted. But Eugen Cociuc's far-range shot hit the post while Babatunde Ajibola's shot in the 85th minute was effective.

As a result, Olimpia-2 claimed a 2-1 win and Negrescu's team suffered a second straight loss. The second team of the Moldova champions has a chance to rehabilitate itself in the game against Intersport-Aroma on September 3.

Igor Negrescu, Dacia-2-Buiucani head coach:

- It was a poor game, I cannot say anything else about the match against Olimpia-2. We managed to do a lot in the first half. and scored a goal that played a bad trick with us. Our carelessness in defence resulted into a goal at the end of the first half. The team was unfocused in the second half. The coaching staff and I will look into this to find out what caused  this performance.
