Dacia to play against CSKA Moskva

August, 22 2011

The National Division Championship will go on break from August 27 to September 10 because of the EURO 2012 qualifying campaign. In order to fill this break, Dacia will hold a friendly game with one of the oldest and famous Russian clubs. Igor Dobrovolskiy's men will face the seven time USSR champions, five time USSR Cup winners, three-time Russia chamoions, six-time Russian Cup holders and four-time Russian Super Cup winners that were the first Russian club to win a UEFA tournament (UEFA Cup 2005) - CSKA Moskva.

Our club is well-known for its world-class exhibition matches that contribute to the preparation for the National Championship.

Dacia Chişinău and CSKA Moskva turn a new leaf in the Moldova-Russia rivalry by reaching an agreement on holding this match It is noteworthy that it is not the first time when the Yellow Wolves face a Russian Premier League team. The Dacians beat Amkar Perm 4-2 in 2008. They lost to Spartak Nalchik  by the same score during that year. After a 1-0 loss to Spartkak Moskva, the Dacians got revenge by sharing a 1-1 draw with Spartak last winter. And the high point of Dacia's history of exhibition matches is Dacia's 1-0 victory over Dinamo Moskva.

CSKA chose Dacia Chişinău as opponents for a reason. The Dacians are not only the reigning Moldova champions but also a tough team to play against. The exhibition match against Dacia will be a good preparation for Leonid Slutsky's men before the derby game against Dinamo  Moskva.

The CSKA - Dacia match will be held on Monday, September 5.
